Selling my Balvar 8, 2.5-8 x variable scope, including Kuharsky mounts for Winchester model 70 and Sako short action (L46, 461, etc). Kuharsky rings for the mounts. Clean optics and reticle plane. No scratches or defects. Tapered cross hair reticule and FFP. These were and still are first class scopes. I still use on my 1950 model 70 in .270. Just don’t need two of them. $175.00 shipped for all.

I have 2 of them and they always work, mine are both mounted in Buehler Micro Dial rings and bases. They were the scope to have back in the day and Maynard P. Buehler made the best scope rings and bases of the day. I have harvested many animals with them over the years not to mention what my dad harvested before me with his.

I have one too. I don’t have it mounted now and didn’t know it was a first focal plane type?

Mine are also in Buehler Micro Dial bases. I didn't use my 300 Win Mag for 27 years, checked the 'zero', 1 1/2 high and a hair left. Good enough for a couple of Bob Marshall deer in grizzly bear country. Forgot my scope covers on a pig hunt in northern Calif. 2 days in rain and snow, no leaks, shot the pig between the eyes, long shot maybe 50 FEET. That 270 has a lot of miles on horse back under my left leg. My varmint guns have Leupolds (12X) but my 25-06 has the B & L 2.5 to 8 and it's enough scope to shoot gophers way over yonder. I also use a 15X t0 60X B & L Discoverer spotting scope. Big and bulky but clear as can be. Unscientific comparisons maybe, but we can't see any difference against a Pentax or Leupold much, much newer. I see the Discoverers on EBay and Craigslist very cheap,(200 & under) if not damaged they are a good buy.
