Bat sv action

Is a bat sv action remington 700 foot print round reciver

BAT SV rblp from one of my builds. Notice it has a square tang also. One of the best actions made in my opinion. This one has a Hornet bolt face.

Screw spacing is 5-1/4”
Puts the front screw in the mag well of a 700/ clone..
1.350” rd is a common diameter-
Edit: also front screw is 1” shorter than a B/DS
Or
3/4” shorter than a Borden BR on screw spacing& bolt length..

Bat has a lot of 700 drop ins. Just go to Bat’s web page. It’s pretty user friendly. The SV like everyone else mentioned has a target tang and is nothing like a 700 and is a damn fine action.

The SV was Bat’s first offering advertised as a more economical offering for a Short Range Benchrest Action.
They emphasize that they are manufactured with the exact same close tolerances and machining details as the more expensive offerings.
My best Friend Ed Bernabeo’s 30BR is based on one, and it shoots great.

I’m very fortunate to have serial number BAT SV 01 a complete early BAT built rifle that I hope to eventually do another story on. The first article was a cover feature in our Small Caliber News magazine. The sad news is this action is now “END OF LIFE” according to Bruce and on their website. Unfortunately, as the saying goes all good things must pass; hopefully, Bruce has planned something even better. Special thanks to Bruce for all his hard work and talent in bringing such a wonderful product line to precision riflemen around the world!

The stock Bruce put the SV into was a very nice stock, what is it chambered in now Todd?

For once I was smart enough to get on board with something good asap, I wound up with SV08. It's chambered in 20 Duster (20-222ai) it easily takes pds past 500 yards and it was worth every penny.

As you now know from the comments the BAT SV will not work with a Remington 700SA inlet.
The good news is if you have a stock with the R700SA inlet there is a very nice bench rest action available in the Kauger BR or BRII:
The quality and price of this action make it a great choice.

Unfortunately the BAT SB action has been discontinued as well. This is one of the last examples made which is a multi-flat design with integral Picatinny mount. This is my heavy varmint rifle. Bruce built the entire rifle for me. I supplied my very last blank of English Walnut that I had saved since 2000. I always liked the extended shroud actions for improved bedding, scope mounting and overall looks.
