BAT Machine Tour

Stopped by the shop in Rathdrum Idaho today and received the full tour from Bruce. I first met him at the Supershoot years ago. Great guy.

Nice operation and plenty of expensive machines. My first BAT action was DS13 And on a sad note, those of you that knew Tom Dickson, he passed away last year.

What type of CNC machining centers are they running?

I’m only 127 miles from there shop so like 2 hours, own a couple of there actions but never been there for a tour, thanks for the pictures

I ordered a spare firing pin and a couple of springs from Bat on Tuesday. I often have stuff delivered to my buddy's place in Alameda, as I'm at work during the day and Oakland has a run on package and mail thievery (not to mention packages that require signatures.) Anyway, placed the order at 10:18am. I figured it would take 3 or 4 days to get to my friends place, so put off telling him to watch for it. He texted me the next morning at about 11am saying Fedex had delivered it. 25 hours from Idaho to the Bay Area, order placement to in-hand. I found that pretty amazing.

What type of CNC machining centers are they running?

IIRC, they are running a Mazak HCN 4000, and a Mazak QTU, can't remember the model number. Think they use a Fadal as well.
I only noticed the Mazaks, since that's what I ran back in the day, and what I do service work on now..

Did he tell you that he will have to kill you after the tour? He said it to me a few years ago when I stopped by. He spent a couple hours with me on a Friday morning, Bruce is a super great guy to visit with. I told him that I have six of his actions I use in BR and am partial to the 3L, have one of the first fifteen they made. He said that one day he'd like it if I could bring it by for them to look at. The Post Falls area is really beautiful, very much worth a visit!

No he didn't Scott. I paid him off with a box of 38 ammo as we were crossing the border later. Forgot about my car gun and sent it back home before crossing border. Those guys acted like I was some kind of terrorist when they came across my holster and speedloader. Tore us down ......3 decent guys....2 dicks.

No problem coming back in but was disappointed when I didn't get a free phone, housing, bus ride, and a check every month.
