BAT M Timing

Is my BAT action timed properly -- as the bolt handle is closed (after the cam) the firing pin indicator moves forward then as the handle is moved all the way down the indicator moves backwards slightly.

I posted a video of it here so you can see what I am talking about.

Well if it is a newer BAT you can change the trigger hangers to get the correct pin fall. The standard hangers are 0 - 30 and 20 -10. These move the sear in .010 increments depending on how you install them. To save stoning your parts. Sometimes you may need a hanger in between. Just elongate the holes and slide the hanger and tighten the screws. If you have questions please PM your number I can walk you through the process and the measurements you need to take.

Thanks for the advice I have contacted BAT -- Below is their reply.

Bruce and I looked at the video and that looks normal on the big lug actions (model M is a big lug action).
If that is a new enough action it may have an adjustable hanger in it. If that is the case it will be marked with a 0 and 30, if 30 is to the front of the action turn the hanger around as that moves the trigger forward and may fix it.

If that doesn’t help the only way to improve this (remove material from surface trigger sear/cocking piece) will result in less firing pin travel.
