BAT Ignigter vs VR Action for short range score.?

NC/Br Shooter

Silver $$ Contributor
Which would you buy and why? Would you see a performance difference in either one?
Both would be single shots of course. Just theoretically, using the same barrel, wouldn't either one work as well as the other? This would be my 5 th build, just looking for a Lil more somewhere somehow with out breaking the bank.
Thanks,

Yeap, and In all actuality, does haveing that much tighter of a raceway make a difference?
And having a solid bottom vs non solid bottom?
Comparing those two actions only.

Its the same action. The ignitor has no options. It comes only as you see it listed. So if you want a solid bottom or a dual port or a integral rail you will get a vr. But neither will fit a benchrest stock properly. If your building a score gun get a B
I was just looking back rereading some this thread. I noticed you mentioned neither will fit a benchrest stock properly. I'm still messing with 700 style actions. The ones I have have solid bottoms. Some real 700s and a couple clones.
I make sure the recoil lug only touches one side. And not touching at the bottom. And have in some cases, molded a inlet for the action to sit in.
Basically where the action can't move any but is not in a bind once tightening of bolts.
What else can be done with 700 action type for br work?
I'm still learning. Trying to anyway
Thanks

Its nothing to do with the lug, its the tang. Benchrest stocks are designed for square tang actions. So if you put a 700 action in a square tang stock the stock wraps up around the tang and doesnt look right. The opposite is also true, when you put a square tang action in a 700 pattern stock the sides and back of the tang will be exposed. Square tangs sit down inside the stock, 700 tangs sit on top. While it can be functional to mix them, its not right.
