Basix trigger

Contemplating a Basix trigger for my 721 Rem. Is it really as easy to install as people say it is??

Pretty basic but If I was you, depending on your application, I would either install a Timney or Jewel.

I bought and installed a Rifle Basix on one of my Remington's about 8 years ago. It was fairly easy to install and is still working fine. Since then I bought a Timney. It was easy to install and worked fine. It will not go as light as the Basix but that was clear on the specs beforehand. My latest was a Jewell. The safety lever on it was not manufactured correctly and I had to bend it for it to clear. I was not real happy about paying that much money and having to modify it to work. The pull is nice and light on the Jewell and adjustments are easy. It is more than would be necessary for any hunting gun.

Just my own personal experience as a kitchen table gunsmith fwiw.

go with the Jewel. As mentioned the 721 is slightly different than the 700 in the area of the safety and may need to be bent.

The Rifle Basix trigger will hit the back of the trigger guard on 721 Remingtons.
I have ground off the bottom 1/8" and some of the back of the trigger to make it clear the back of the trigger guard.
Both on short and long action 721's.Good trigger after that. Comes with the safety kit.
Don't know if the Shilen's clear or not.

I tried one RB on a rifle,,, decided I'd stick with Shilen or Jewell. The Timney Calvin Elite ain't bad, though.

I was having caffeine jitters one morning ang best comp. shooter in area told me I was shaking 1 I asked him if he would shoot 5 they tucked in tight and he commented , nothing like a jewell , I nodded I had a newer baxis . someone told him , he looked close and said don't change it !!
