Basic Ballistics 11, 12, 13, or 14

If you try their free trial beware, his server is slow as h***. It took me almost 20 minutes to download it.

I suspect that since the guy is using his own cloud server for the downloads the number of connections is effecting the download time and file integrity.

Well so far my opinion of the Ballistics Basics software is;

The download is not very good. It took three tries before I could download a working copy of the software and each download took 20 minutes of more - and yes, I have a high speed fiber optic connection.

The first download attempt failed.
The second download finished downloading but the file was corrupted.
The third download worked and I was able to run the install.
The initial install had a backup process that was overshadowed by the application's window opening before I finished picking a backup folder.

The program doesn't have the same focus as QuickLoad. QuickLoad is a professional grade program whose purpose is to provide detailed internal ballistics information while Ballistics Basics is all-in-one tool for the average guy. Ballistics Basics provides basic external (with a limited amount of internal ballistic info) ballistics, target/group data, inventory records, some reference resources (largely outdated and pretty much a waste of time), and some other stuff.

Personally I don't like these kind of all-in-one programs because I've gotten away from computer records for this stuff, I've had to rebuild my data too many times after my computers died. I prefer QuickLoad because it's job is to provide detailed internal ballistics data that works interactively with the sister program (QuickTarget) that provides me with external ballistics information. The Ballistics Basics looks nice and it seems to be a good product for a person that wants to save that kind of data on a computer but it just isn't my preference.

Thanks Rammac for that opinion. I also have QL and don't know if I want to try and learn another program.

But still looking for other opinions on this software.
