Base diameters for a 284 chamber

Hi guys,
I would like to ask what is the common chamber base diameters for the 284 Winchester. One for Lapua brass and one for Winchester brass. Mine is .501" at the .200" line I am hoping to run Lapua in this chamber and a little Winchester when I can find it. Thanks again, Matt

I know that the Lapua brass is larger at the base, than the Winchester brass is...
2 different reamers are needed.......

I just pulled my reamer prints.

My .284 reamer for Winchester brass is .4996 at the bolt face and .497 at the 200 line - Lapua will not chamber in it.
My .284 reamer for Lapua brass is .5041 at the bolt face and .501 at the 200 line.
My .284 Ackley reamer for Lapua brass is .5012 at the bolt face and .500 at the 200 line.

All are PT&G reamers.

So my chamber is best optimized with the Lapua brass with a .501. So I could shoot Winchester but it would open up pp pretty quick. Thanks, Matt

What is the saami dimension?

Up .200" from the case head: Ø.500" -.008" for brass, Ø.501" ±.002" for chambers. The link will show the full case and chamber drawings, too large to post here. [br]
