This man Served a Apprentice Ship under Boots Obermeyer in Barrel Making . Makes very fine Cut Rifled Barrels in left hand Twist .
I have shot His Barrels and done very well. The last I knew he still gets the Army Contract for 6mm Barrels for there Teams.

And to add we have a Fellow up here in the PNW that makes our Barrels now that out shot just about anyone's.
The trouble is no shipping a face to face operation and NO SS !!!

Alex, I know Tracy and Frank make good barrels, but I think people are buying the 5R on hype only.
tigguy, when you stop laffing out loud, explain 5R rifling. Bet you have not a clue.

Forgot all about this thread, mainly, your post butch. I figured your original question above was rhetorical, based off of your general knowledge shown over the years in previous topics and posts. Seemed to me you were baiting, and I could picture the potential debate from others to come. Hence, my LoL. A tongue-in-cheek emoji would go here. As far as my knowledge on the subject of 5R rifling goes, the basics still stick with me. Anybody can Google it, as a few already have and posted links to this thread. I did over 6 years ago when researching the 700 Mil-Spec. Obermeyer's reasoning behind it seemed pretty rational to me, more so than just theoretical. No need for me to hash that out. Hype?, voodoo?, do all end all? I don't think so. Too many examples of accurate barrels with different rifling processes than 5R out there that suggest otherwise. To each his own. Maybe I just got lucky but the bone stock Mil-Spec I bought in 2010 prints groups in the .2's-.3's, for hours. That's with handloads using projos of 3 different manufacturers and 3 different weights, 3 different powders, and 2 different brands of brass. I haven't tried it the proverbial "all day" though. My self-described entry/novice level of shooting discipline, midrange glass, and plywood bench suggest that the vast majority of my favorable results are due to the weapon, maybe potentially, and even specifically, due to the rifling. It flat out shoots. That much, I do know.

It never fails to amaze me...... You are taught from a very early age that if you don't know why or how something works, you ask questions. It is in reference to enhancing you're mind, you're level of education concerning a specific subject, gaining a better understanding of the mechanics of a given subject, etc. etc.. Then some "JACKWAGON" has to come along and make fun (LOL) of the fact that apparently you have never fad the opportunity to gain that piece of knowledge. Going out on a limb here and making the assumption that this post is in reference to me and my LoL. It's tigguy, not JACKWAGON, and I wasn't making fun of anyone. butch is more knowledgable than you seemingly gave him credit for not being. Take a minute and read my latest response to his.
