has anybody tried to shoot these rings adjusted somewhere besides in the 15 or 40 taper holes and leave the pin out,,I think a person could set the taper wherever they wanted and tighten the screws down and they would hold,,
on a 20 taper rail in the 15 MOA adjustment my Sightron 8-32 is only 3 clix from the bottom of its adjustment at 100 yards and has 70+ MOA of adjustments,,in the 40 MOA adjustment it is zeroed at 1,000 yards with 70 MOA of adjustment from there,,
I thought about getting a 15 taper rail so I wouldnt be so close to the bottom at 100 yards but looking at the rings I may try and move it a little and get my zero about 5 MOA from the bottom without the pin in the rings and could still use the pin in the 40 minute taper when we are shooting on out there,,
has anybody tried using the Barrett rings with just the screws holding them without the pin in either hole on the rear ring??
