Removing factory barrels is the most difficult barrel to remove because they don't want the average guy taking them off. They often headspace by tightening the hell out of a barrel. Since factory barrels are a $39.00 comodity they are not worh getting a hernia or twisting and action. Remove the mag box and trigger and make a small relief cut in front of the lug. The barrel will come off easy. You can use anyones barrel vice. I am not a fan of heat, or brute force.
Butch and Bob Pastor make great vices as does Brownells. The second part of this equation is what action wrench do you use. Brownells clam shell is the industry standard. If one uses a side or rear entry wrench I recomend my method of removing the barrel. I have seen others twist a Remington action or tear out the bolt anti bind rail.
