Barrel vise dimensions

Hey all,
I need to build a barrel vise for light varment barrels. Does anybody have dimensions of a vise they really like? If it was able to do sporter barrels and Heavy varmet that would be a bonus. Most important to me is the size of the cut out for the barrel.

The cut out for the barrel needs to be big enough to accept the type of bushing you'll be using, mines about 1 1/2" in diameter so I use 1 1/2" bushings with the hole in the center cut to the barrel size, and then split on one side..
You'll end up with a lot of bushings for different size barrels..
The steel in mine is 2" bar stock 8" & 12" long.....

Check this thread. http://www.accurateshooter.com/forum/index.php/topic,3761239.0.html Mine is from 2.225" square aluminum stock. I bored a 1.750" hole in it. I put 2 shims between the 2 pieces boring to size. I make 1.750 aluminum bushings that I bore to match the barrel profile. I split the bushings. If you read the whole post you will see mine. My friend Mike, needs to put shims between his top and bottom or it will not clamp to the bushings.
