Barrel twist

Looking at a 20 cal. blank with an 11 twist. I shoot a 32 gr. Worried that it is not a fast enough twist for my 32 gr bullet. This came up for sale. Any advice from the shooters??

You are perfectly fine, a 12 will shoot 32's
An 11 will shoot 40's

A 12T with 40's can be hit or miss, but will usually shoot the 39's and lighter w/o issue. Most get a 11T and they can shoot the 40's and lighter.

I’ve shot 10, 11 and 12 twist in 204 Ruger. 11T is ideal. I’ve had issues with 32 gr bullets at 4100+ fps in 10T barrels. Not sure if it was higher speed on a hot day or a dying barrel. As mentioned, 12T can be hit or miss with 40gr.

1/11 twist in 20 caliber bore is one of the best for the 32 - 39 grain or less wieght ( 24NTX) shooting.

I shoot both the lead and non-lead v-max 32's in my 12 twist hart barrels.

I realize barrels differ, but I shoot 39 BK's and 40 V-Max extremely accurate out of my Hart 12" twist tubes. I can't imagine anyone needing a 10" twist to shoot 40's. Going over 40 grains - the twist changes quickly depending on the bullet.

Differences in elevation, and in velocity factor in. 11 seems to almost always work. 10 makes sure.

I have a 12 twist 204r and have shot 32s and 35s just fine. Just built a 20 practical with a 10 twist. Shoots the 32s and 40s good.

My favorite ground squirrel spot is at 4,600 ft. elev. Shoot good there - as well as at sea level. Maybe in some higher elevations not?
