Barrel Turning

I have a barrel chambered for my Fclass action(panda) that is 30", 1.25" straight contour chambered in 6.5x47 that I no longer need for my Fclass rig. I have recently bought a reamer for a 6.5x55 Swede derivative for a hunting rifle. I need the 1.25" straight barrel turned down to match my hunting rifle's barrel contour to fit my stock. My gunsmith who is going to chamber my barrel is unable to turn this barrel to the contour needed with his current lathe setup.

Who should the barrel be sent to to turn down to match the contour of my current barrel with decent (<4-6 week) turn around time?

Thanks in advance.

It probably will not be worth it , that's why no responses . At my current $ / hr , it will be cheaper to get another barrel . Not to mention possible bore dimension change .

Depending on the barrel manufacturer, you might get it turned down by them. Krieger recontoured one of their barrels (after shooting it awhile in a heavy barrel) to a sporter for me and Hart did the same. Both were some years ago.

Please post results. I'd be surprised if you find a cost effective solution unless someone has a lathe that can remove a lot of material very economically.
