Barrel Temperature

I read with interest in the daily bulletin about temperature sernsors on rifle barrels. But I could not find at what temp should a person quit shooting a barrel to get good life out of a barrel.

Keep shooting and don't worry about it. I have had days where the shooting was non stop going through 3 cases of Black Hills 223. My friend uses an AR15 I hate him for it since he'll shoot the same gun all day and go through 4 case. I have never seen where my accuracy suffered that I couldn't hit squat at the end of the day. But a good cleaning at night is in order.

I see these guys travel from all over and there sitting there in the peak of shooting swapping guns and cleaning them every 40-50 rounds. I laugh since I am killing more dogs all day. Isn't that what it's about. Barrels are cheap and memories last a lifetime. Keep shooting.

When it becomes too hot to touch.....wrap a damp towel around it.
equitoes -Only take-off barrels are cheap. Good aftermarket barrels and machine work are not.Don't know what size a squat is, but I guarantee your accuracy suffers at the end of such an extreme shooting session.
