Well, it's all relative. Long 20+ round strings on a hot summer day eat a barrel faster than a few rounds and letting the barrel stay cool. A minimum accuracy standard of 1/4 moa means the barrel gets replaced sooner than a 1/2 moa standard.
So I've got a couple of barrels sitting on the shelf that are no longer quite competitive for 1,000 yard shooting, but they would be fine for mid-range score.
