Barrel lenght for 6mmdasher

I'm going to rebarrel my dasher, right now the barrel lenght is 27 inches I was thinking to go out 30 inches I'm thinking this mite help the burn and accurcey. Any thoughts. Thanks

Itam I have 2 with 30 + inch barrels on them. I dont think accuracy will change with the length but you will get more speed out of it and the faster the bullet gets to the targer the less wind drift it will have. The longer barrel will effect the way it will ride the bag, but that can be corrected by the way you set up.

Less than 5 fps. 30" down 28" a little more down too 26" Now that being said i have one set back and rechambered at 26.5 thats only 9 fps. slower than a new 30" its a 5r and old set back is a Kreiger. Dasher don't seem to care if they are short......jim

I have not found any real difference to be concerned about between 28" and 30" on the velocity, but I cannot speak to 28" vs 26".

On my guns going from 32 inches down to 30 inches cost me 15 fps or 7.5 fps per inch.
When I went from 30 inches to 28 inches the difference was 25 fps or 12.5 fps per inch. This was tested over Jerry Tierneys Oehler 35 a year ago at the 1000 yard nationals.Velocity with the 30 inch barrel was 3050 fps and it shot the 5th smallest group of the match. The 28 inch barrel was running 3025 fps and shot the 6th smallest group at the match. Both groups at 1000 yards were around 3.5 inches.

lynn, Maybe the reason the vel. drop is less for me is my top vel. is 2970 in a 30" and down to 2955 with the 26.5 Kreiger. I'm using the 115's in the dasher.......jim
