Barrel For F-Class/Tactical

I am putting together a rifle on a Remington short action. Because funds are limited I have decided to build a combination tactical and F-Class in .260 Rem. I would like to hear your recommendations for barrel contours.

Also, do any of you had any experience with the J. Allen Enterprise stock,http://www.jallenenterprises.com/jae700rsa.htm). I have narrowed my choices to that or the McMillan A5.

Thanks.

I'll second the recommendation for a std. or med. Palma bbl. finished at 30". They weigh around 5.5lbs. from Krieger or Bartlein, probably a little more from PacNor, since their contour features a longer shank than Bartlein's or Krieger's.

To give you an idea of weight, I've got a rifle in 6x47 Lapua built around a SA 700 w/Bartlein 8-twist std. Palma in a McMillan A5 w/thumbwheel adj. cheekpiece & 3-way buttplate that weighs 14.25lbs. with a 16x Super Sniper in aluminum TPS TSR rings on a Satern 20 min. sloped combo scope base. It's plenty good out to 1000yds. with Berger 105 VLDs or DTAC 115s.
