Barrel flush Oil (for a cheapo hobbiest)

For a guy just doing his own stuff, what is a favorite inexpensive cutting oil for a home rigged flush setup?
Amazon has a 5gal pail of Miles brand Sulf Kut for $70. Is dark sulphar oil all the same?

Second question is a 10 micron filter small enough?

Dark sulfur-based is fine. You want a lubricant, not a coolant. I mix 5:1 with ATF.
10 micron? Jeez, I would think so. Another area where i think some getin the weeds. All i care about is chips big enough to cause a problem. Minute scratches in the chamber wall? Who cares- we rough them up with emery cloth or scotchbrite, etc when we're done..

That's a pretty good deal... Looks to be along the lines of the mobilmet 766 that I have. What kind of pump you have? Just wondering the viscosity...

I've used Oatey and Ridged dark cutting oil from Home Depot for years. Works as well as anything. It's in the pipe section.

I've never used a filter. 7000+ barrels and counting. A few magnets, a few stops along the way for gravity to work. Think sluice box, settling ponds and magnetic filter. Then use your imagination.

They have things you might need. N52 things.

Jayson I have been using a roller fluid pump for chemicals and oil transfer that I bought from a farm store 20 years ago. It is attached to a 3/4 hp motor and works great. It runs from 30 to 80 PSI . Also you need a bypass valve in the line to adjust the pressure . I am with Dave on the filter use . I don't use one either. I just use magnets like he does. Works great for the hundreds of barrels that I have done. I use Chevron Elite cut metal cutting oil.I bought my magnets at Harbor Freight

Everybody has their own methods. I tried dark oil first, big mess, then actual coolant- dealing with sump funk and oil skimmers wasnt fun, so im back to the old school way just like most do.

I use a Jabsco utility pump, special impeller (nitrile iirc) so it won't melt from the oil.
