Barrel contour for 7 Saum build

Hey all new to the forum. I’m putting together a 7 saum that will be a dedicated elr Nightforce challenge type rifle and trying to decide on barrel and contour. Without special ordering what’s currently available is Bartlein 30” heavy varmint 1:8 or krieger 30” 1.25 straight 1:8. I’ll be launching either 190 or 195 Berger’s and will have a suppressor installed.

I was really hoping for a straight 1:8 bart but looks like that would be a special order item. Can you all help me compare and contrast the HV vs straight and krieger vs bart decision for my goals?

That was the first place I looked. They have the HV bart.

I’d go heavy varmint, some pretty big names say they prefer tapered barrels over straight.

My first two 7 Saums were heavy Palma and that worked well but my next blank is a HV.

If you happen to find a brux HV I’d definitely consider it.

I have been using Bartlein barrels for a long time, but I recently had a CRB brand barrel spun up. I am very very impressed with it. 1.25 contour

For a nightforce elr rifle with no weight limit, I’d run a straight 1.25

Brux, Bartlein, or krieger in that order for a 7mm

Depending on the build, especially the stock, a straight 1.250 could be a little nose heavy.
