Barrel and tuned load question

If you have a tuned load for a specific barrel and action will this same load work if you use the barrel on another action?

I have a 6 dasher barrel for my Bat MB action that I have a good load for. I have a Bat B action due to be delivered tomorrow I'm wanting to remove the current barrel on this action and add my 6 Dasher barrel to the new B action. So I'm curious is a load tuned for just a barrel or is it the combo of the action and barrel?

I doubt I'm lucky enough to be able to use same load in this barrel on my MB action as I would the B but hopefully by chance I luck into this without more load developing.

Has anyone swapped barrels from one action to another and keep the same load?

Nice thing is no head spacing or threading is required just unscrew and screw another one on.

I can't speak to changing from an MB to B action. I don't know enough about them to give you any real information.

On the question of changing actions, I have two Barnards. They headspace within .0005 to the best of my ability to measure, so I've run a couple of barrels on both. The results are identical between barrels (once again to the best of my ability to determine). The only problem with the switch-action routine is that Barnard did not start the threads at the same point on both actions, so the barrel markings are indexed a bit off. This could be important if one was using an indexed muzzle brake.

Its so much of a not a problem that the writing will even line up and headspace will be dead on.

Thanks guys, the rifle and scope is due for delivery tomorrow so now I need to round up a set of rings until the Bat rings show up and hope for the best.

The rifle comes with a no turn 7.5 twist barrel I'll be tossing it and using a .268 neck chambered in 6 Dasher. If all works well I'll pretty much have matching rifles one in a 6 Dasher and the other in a 22 Dasher.

I have the exact same actions as you, and I have swapped the barrels and shoots exactly the same, no worries. Joey
