Barrel accuracy after cleaning.

For those that might be interested and haven't seen the Hornady podcast about barrel life and when is a good to time clean barrels, the attached PDF file has their full list of various calibers and the info base on thousands and thousands of barrels that they've collected data on. Different calibers and how hot require different periods of cleaning.

I clean it all the way down after each match(75rds) My rifle come back to POA after 2 shots and groups up after 5-6. As far as cleaning goes pick your poison If you wait till accuracy degrades it can be a real PIA to clean. If you stay on top of it is not a chore at all same with the carbon ring

I clean with Wipeout after each use.
I find it takes2 shots to come back.

Once I had to use Jb to rid a carbon ring. It took 30 shots to come back!
I was panicked.

I had a friend that cleaned his old Remington 7mm Mag down to bare metal after buying his first bore scope and it never came back. He said the barrel was wore out, but the gun just didn’t know it yet…..lol

I use a black patch of lock eaze followed by one dry after cleaning.

The first shot would almost always fall into the group if I put it there. I usually just shoot it at a sighter then go to grouping.

If it takes more than a round or two to make your rig shoot right again, it was either tuned dirty or is really rough, in my opinion anyway.
