Barrel accuracy after cleaning.

First off, I realize every barrel has its own quirks and a $400.00 match barrel is far different from a standard factory barrel. My question is how many rounds after cleaning a factory barrel would you think it would take before the barrel settles back down to its "happy place" and grouping becomes consistent ?

Are you asking about a new factory barrel that hasn't been fired yet?

Or, are you asking about a factory barrel that's gotten dirty from a series of firing, cleaned and then how long it takes for consistency?

Need to be a little more specific, I think. ;)

First shot 1/4" high above next 4 shots, @ 100 yards.

Tightest group of 4 groups would be shots 11 to15. Gun settles into the bags? Or barrel gets conditioned?

Have 3 factory rifles that behave this way.

Too clean will get you every time. :(
Let your target tell you when to clean. ;)
And DON'T listen to that bore scope either.

I find every barrel is a little different and in my experience the closer to being shot out the more they require. My experience is with the 6br improved and once they took over 10 to settle down, I was thinking about a different barrel.

My current barrel after a heavy cleaning just gets 3 foulers. Actually one
in the berm, then the next two on a sighter target. Had a barrel that drove
me nuts for the first five or six rounds then came in once it was warm. Each
one has it's own character.....

I have a Dasher barrel that takes 6 to 10, but most of the rest are 1 and then good to go. I guess I am the odd man out in this.
