Anyone have any hands-on experience w/ these bullets in the 243/6mm calibers, and more specifically in an 8twist bbl???

I've shot quite a few mule deer and pronghorns with the 85gr TSX in a 6BR 10tw. The TSX aren't as accurate for me as a top quality lead core bullet, but they respond to seating depth changes (well off the lands -- 0.020" to .050") and are plenty accurate enough for big game. They do what you would expect from a monolithic bullet -- excellent penetration, smaller wound channel than a cup/core bullet, game often runs 50-150 yards unless hit in the CNS. Works for me, hunting in open country and not wanting to leave lead in the carcass for scavenging golden eagles.

Seating depth test shown in the attached image, with my 95gr Berger VLD load used for group size comparison. All 3-shot groups from a bipod @ 100yd.

I use the 80grain TTSX in two of my 257 weatherbys. They shoot very well. They shoot just over an inch at 300 yards in my custom rifle. My experience on whitetails is DRT, nothing short of spectacular. Mine are running just shy of 3900 fps. I have also shot groundhogs and I was surprised with the large exit wounds.
Good luck.

In a Remington 700 with a 9.25" twist, the following loads work well:

85g TSX
44.5g of R#19
win primer
Bullet seated .050 off the lands

39.5g of IMR 4064
Fed 210 primer
Bullet seated .050 off the lands

1/2" or better groups were shot with these above, they kill very well

These are illustrative of what my gun shoots, yours may be different, so consult a reloading manual, and work up to these loads in your rifle.

When loading Tripple shocks in my 243,270, and 7 mag, I start off with a .050 bullet jump and have not had to alter from that amount to get excellent accuracy in the 1/2" area at 100 yards.
