Barnard S action

Anyone have Experience with this action and the diamond two stage trigger?

Am going to build a MR / LR prone gun on this action and trigger. Am curious why/ how Barnard decided to offer 17 and 25 MOA scope rails instead of a 20 MOA unit.

How good is the Diamond two stage trigger? I have been using and am greatly satisfied with the CG Jackson triggers on my other rifles and am anxious to compare the two triggers.

Interested to compare this action to my RPA Quadlites.

I have a number of Barnard ‘S’ actions and I love them. I can’t comment on the Diamond triggers as mine are all Jewels. Regarding the scope rails, mine are the older 24 moa and I’ve had one scope/ring setup that with the scope bottomed at zero, POI was a couple of moa high at 300 yds. Had to go to the Burris ring route. The other rifles will zero at 100, but the scopes are all near the bottom.

Thanks for the reply. I opted for the long bolt handle to hopefully have a low effort bolt opening. Won’t need a 100 yd zero as this rifle will be used primarily with irons at 600-1000 yds. Sling shooting. Have had jewel triggers n they are the standard for single stage but need a two stage on this action. The CG Jackson’s I have on my other rifles are exceptional, just hope the new two stage Diamond is worth the price of admission.

The Barnard 'S' is widely used in UK F/TR and has an excellent reputation. Coming from New Zealand, there should be a fair few 'Down Under' competitors around too to comment on it. Traditionally, most sling shooters here (UK) opted for the heavier Model 'P' action, but the S-model's reduced weight is very useful in F/TR, and it seems to have no downsides on precision in cartridges like 308 Win. Can't comment on the trigger - never even heard of that one!

The Actions are tops. I had 4 at one time .I also had all the Triggers from Barnard .
You can always Up-Grade the Trigger and have a Fire Sale ??

I run the Diamond two stage on my Kelbly Atlas's. They are fantastic. They break cleaner than my Bix Competition two stage. Only down side for me is no adjustable trigger shoe, but I am able to make up for it with grip adjustments on my stock.

Guessing the 17 MOA rail is for flatter shooting calibers or shorter ranges and 25 for less efficient rounds and/or longer ranges. The Diamond is a great trigger; fairly new, so not much info. on longevity.

I have to say for $300+ dollars I would expect a fully adjustable trigger shoe. The Jackson triggers have this feature and I really like that feature. Will have to see how this new model Diamond feels.
