Barnard Precision -Still in business?

Hi All,

I am hoping that one of our southern hemisphere shooters can shed some light on Barnard Precision in New Zealand.
I can't get their old website to open, and am wondering if they are still functional, or have been done in by Covid or Politics (same thing, really).

Thanks in advance!

Frank

Since Whidden Gunworks is now the sole importer for Barnard for the USA, why not contact them?

A quick check of Whidden shows they have all Barnard parts and actions in stock...

as for the website, that looks like an internet problem.

How does the gun ownership work in new zealand now? They may have just given up and started fishing. Wheres our kiwi friends?
@Grey Kiwi
Stupid, knee jerk rules...but the gangs in Auckland still have all their guns.
We have had to get better gun safes (tougher/stronger). Can't buy semi-auto rifles unless a rimfire.
Magazine capacity reduced (I think it's 7 in a large caliber, and 10 in a .22).
To be brutally honest...we never needed semi-auto's in NZ for deer hunting (apart from deer recovery guys shooting from helicopters). For wild pig, goats (yeah OK, need a semi-auto for a mob of these little sods), Chamois, Tahr and deer, a hunter on foot is quite OK with a normal bolt action. https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-r...ng/what-to-hunt/tahr/tahr-control-operations/
I can still buy a new rifle and a heap of ammo online. Just need a Police form officially stamped and actioned at local Plod office.
Our (NZ) Firearms Licence was said to be 'Lifetime'. Then the Politicians realised they could screw us over by making it a 10 year licence that costs $$ to renew each time.
Anyway, need quick shots out in the bush then get a nice lever action...no problem.
It certainly hasn't affected me, but I'm only shooting bunnies and indoor benchrest now.
We have more stupid rules from other countries that affect us worse...no US company wants to sell us a scope, or a trigger spring, etc. I would like a nice US made barrel for my CZ457...but that's not going to happen now.
Did you guys know that a few years ago (before that Aussie guy came to NZ and shot up the mosque), that our commie princess PM was on a committee that changed the firearms rules...she helped make it easier for the shooter to get into NZ, get a FAL, and buy rifles, ammo. The Police failed in their duty too as they did not follow proper procedure by allowing this guy to get a FAL.
Seems like this was setup from the start for the commie princess and her mates to then toughen up on shooting sports, FAL's, etc. Commie normal practice...disarm the citizens.
The US is getting the same attention now too?
Anyway...keep safe guys.

So are you saying you can legally receive a barrel from the US but nobody will sell you one?

AussieDave,

Here you go -I threw in the 223 print as well.

DHagerty -I did contact Whidden, as I need some Heavy striker springs for a P.
At the moment, they can't get them, and don't know if or when they will.

Hence, wondering if they are still functional, or if I need to find another way to get/make/have made some heavy striker springs.
