SSL, thanks. Should I plug the barrel, pour it in and let it soak? Or swab it like I'm using regular barrel cleaner such as Hoppe's No. 9?
Ron
i have used vinegar to clean moly off from bullets with relative ease , dont see why it wouldnt work on the barrelDepends on how many moly shots went down the bore. It layers onto itself, constricting the bore eventually(if not managed along the way). JB bore cleaning compound & Kroil for tight spot removal.
I did the same switch many years ago in a 22-250 and used Boretech moly magic during regular cleaning and also JB. Patches came out squeaky clean and I never seemed to have any problems. If I started out using bare bullets in my stainless steel barrel then used moly coated bullets in the same barrel, can I go back to using bare bullets? Or is there a cleaning process that needs to be due before to remove the moly?
Ron
Yeah, me too. The wet method is easy and clean. It produces bullets which look like they're black chrome plated. The Moly doesn't rub off on anything and, in my several target rifles at least, doesn't "cake" or "build up".I have to agree with using the wet method of applying moly. What a wonderful change with even better results.
