Ballistic programs?

Shooter for android. How accurate are they? I have the paid version.

Today I was shooting at 300 with a chrono'd load and a known zero. Everything entered in correctly and tripple checked. Wind was very light. Less than 3" at 300.

Elevation was the problem. My load is 2880 fps for 77smk shooting 1" high at 100yard. 2800 feet elevation, 60 degrees and 60% humidity from local weather station.

With a zero on the knobs I am one inch high at 100. I dialed up 2.5 moa on the scope as per the program. My group of ten shots, 1.250" elevation spread was centered 2.5" high at 300.

Tail wind in the direction of shot? Or something else I am missing?

Here's what Biggameinfo says:

25 -0.5 7 2819
50 0.3 -2 2759
75 0.8 -4 2700
100 1.0 -4 2642
125 0.9 -3 2584
150 0.4 -1 2527
175 -0.4 1 2471
200 -1.5 3 2416
225 -3.0 5 2362
250 -4.9 8 2308
275 -7.2 10 2255
300 -10.0 13 2203

13 clicks (3 1/4 MOA)up from your 1" @100 makes it worse.

I think first you need to set your zero at 100 or 200, not where you're at.

I usually set a 200 zero, test at 300 for drop, and set my scope to be"right"with the program at 4,5, or 600, depending....

Somethings not right.

Not sure....my new load is one inch higher hence the one inch at one hundred. I had the knobs set for zero with the old load which was spot on or zero at one hundred.

Scope is 2.375" above centerline and I entered that as well as a one hundred yard 1" high zero in the program.

Strelok for android is pretty slick also if you want something to compare Shooters output.

Base version is free.

++ for the Strelok for an Android and JBM for the home computer. For my 6mm and .284 both are spot on for 600/1000yds. Elevation never off by more than a few clicks. Have to make EVERY sighter count! Eric in DL

I have had great luck with both Shooter on my Android and JBM on my laptop, I am pretty sure the calculating engine is the same on both. If I am off more the say .75 MOA at 1,000 yards I assume one of my inputs was incorrect.

See, now I get a different result from Strelok. I have all the data put in for each of my guns and bullets. Tested through a F1 chrony and I have to put a different velocity into Strelok to match the known drops out to 400 yards for every one of my guns.

I spent most of the day at the range wed an thursday. Found my rear scope mount had loosened. Tightened down and then fired at 100 and 300. Shooter was spot on both days after fixing the scope.

Get Ballistic FTE.

FTE is a great program and I've used it for years. Then I bought Shooter for iPhone. I never looked back. It's the only app I use now and I have 3.

anyone know the difference between the Shooter app and the applied ballistics app? Using google play store for Android

Once again the Strelok is not even close to being same as JBM with all inputs the same
