Ballistic Programs???

Whats everyone using for ballistic programs with mobile devices?

I have iSnipe on my iPhone and it works OKAY but It's not very good when it comes to wind drift.

Maybe its as good as it gets and the rest is up to me lol, but the elevation works out VERY close however I can never seem to get the windage using the location OR inputting the wind myself.

Anyone have any pointers for iSnipe or any other reccomendations for programs?

I run a mac if that limits it!

I use Bulletflight mostly but have a few others. With Berger .30 155s Hybrids the wind is pretty darn close (if shooting at moderate ranges where near wind and sighting flags are indicative enough for accurate assessment), but with my .30 168 Hybrids I have learned to use +-.66 of the suggested wind. With my .284 180 Hybrids I have found that I use about .90 of the suggested dope. The differences trouble me when I get to pondering but my elevation predictions are great.

I have a Kestrel but have no technical solutions for far wind or intermediate bands outside of wind flags and natural indicators at extended ranges. My shooting group has considered buying weather stations for our 1000, 1320, and 1760 target stands, we just have to see if the LCDs will be readable at those ranges with our optics and spotting scopes.

At ranges over 1300 yards I find it very hard to rely solely on ballistic programs for wind (I live in OK btw), especially in winter. I am just an enthusiast and not a professional like some in the community, so hopefully others with more experience will chime in.

I guess it should always be stated that accurate measurements and inputs are necessary for best prediction. Chronos, accurate BCs, spin drift, and the list goes on.

PM member 6.5x61Super as to what app he uses on his smart phone! He refered to it as "shooters app" but, I'm not 100% sure if that is the name? He made some ridiculous shots using that app!

I have Shooter on droid phone & i-Pad; it's been darned good on everything except 90s in a 223 AI lately. Not sure why, but Shooter's predictions on drop & wind have disagreed with Bryan Litz's PMS that came with his book on LR ballistics, even when bullets are loaded from the Litz library on Shooter. The PMS program's output has been pretty much dead-on with the 90s. Got to take the time to check the click values on the Vortex PST scope on the 223 before I go blaming it on the program though.

Overall, I like Shooter 'bout as well as any program I've used.

I started using Shooter for Android last summer. Plugging in all the data points, including velocity from the Magnetospeed Chronograph, put me right on when moving from a 100 yard zero to 300, 600 and 1000 yards, each at different shooting ranges in different weather conditions.

Strelok user here also, went ahead and spent the few bucks for the Strelok+ version, been very happy with it.

One note, these things are references, not the written in stone gospel truth. They will get you there and sometimes spot on but expect to have to adjust 1/4 to 1/2 MOA.

I use the free Strelok version - and I like it for the most part. Just curious, does the 'plus' version let you use the G7 BC?

More reticles, you can change the power on the reticles too, also there is a new trajectory validation that kinda helps you reverse engineer your muzzle velocity and/or validate chrono readings.

I didn't buy the + versions for any of those features, it was more of a "hey, this guy wrote a pretty slick app that I use a lot, I'll spend $3 with him" decision.

Now I have Strelok and input all my data into it to the T and compared to JBM/Nikon SpotOn with everything being the same it gives way different numbers. Haven't taken it to distance yet to verify which one is more accurate but seems odd it is that much different than the others I mentioned.

I am thinking about trying the Litz Shooter's App

I rely on JBM Ballistics fairly heavily. I have found that I can tweak barometric pressure on the Strelok program and get to run fairly close to JBM.
