Ballistic coefficient of 168 grain Sierra Match King

I have searched here, Federal's website, and googled till my fingers got sore....but I cannot find the ballistic coefficient of the .308, 168 grain Sierra Matchking BTHP.

Sure would appreciate it if anyone could supply the answer.

Thanks in advance

Jack

If you'll go to Sierra's website you can look up their rated BC's under each individual bullet. Here's what they list for the 168 MK -

.462 @ 2600fps & above
.447 between 2600 & 2100fps
.424 between 2100 & 1600fps
.405 @ 1600fps & below

I once asked one of their ballistic engineers how they derived their BC figures and he replied that what they print is taken directly from firing the bullets over Doppler radar and not from some computer-generated ballistic model.

Supplying these figures at different points across the velocity spectrum certainly helps if you're plugging the data into a ballistic program.

Alan
