Ball powder spilling out of the pan

Are there any tricks to keeping spherical/ball powders from bouncing out of the pan on the RCBS Chargemaster? Until about 10-12 grains of the charge are in the pan some of the powder bounces out.
Makes a mess and is a big waste. Any help would be appreciated.

I an using the Uniflow and trickle up method until I upgrade. But the shot glass will help. Now where did I put that Panama City model?

i use ball but my pan has high walls don't seem to have any problems...would not a shot glass be way to heavy for the scale ?...cut down a pill bottle maybe

i have used a Tylenol bottle with the top cut.off. worked quite well.

but i really like the shot glasses. they are really solid and stable and i don't shake the powder out.

depends on the scale these might be a little lighter than glass.

2" plastic solo cups or pill cups that I pick up from the nursing home where my mother-in-law is. High sides, light weight.

I had to go thru several and ended up shaving 1 down before I got 2 that weighed the same.

Watch for static causing powder to cling to the plastic.

Some form of metal would be better in that regard - I use an old aluminum 35mm film can (though they're *really* hard to find these days.)

This is slightly off topic but I think worth mentioning. Ball powder can be thrown to the accuracy of, or better than that of a Chargemaster, and a lot more quickly. Just get out your measure and check a charge weight every so often.

Garret snuff can? Let me see if I can find that chicken with the can under her wing. . . . .

It's not the perfect fix but it will work; build a pan out of aluminum foil making the sides higher. The key is to make the pan with as few wrinkles as possible, otherwise powder will get caught in the wrinkles and throw your charge weight off. You can also make a miniature boat out of paper that will work.
