Balance Beam Scale @ Range

I am pretty sure BR folks take the good old balance beam scales to the range for loading(or used to). What are y'all using to keep breezes from messing up the readings? Care to share some photos of home made setups?
I am still acquiring my "load @ the range gear", and powder scale is really all I lack to get started.

No they generally don't take balance beam scales to the range, but I have a way to do that, that works very well.

When it was first built, the front cover was plexiglass, but after I discovered that it created a static charge problem that affected the scale a little, it was replaced with tempered plate glass. Feel free to copy.

That's pretty slick :) Thanks. I like the leveling screws and level. I might have to use up some of the teak plywood left over from the boat remodel.

When you get it built, PM me, and post a picture. BTW tuning up a balance beam scale really makes them shine. They work a lot better than new.

I almost died 12 years ago when my body decided it wouldn't make Insulin anymore, there is a lot of waste in keeping yourself alive and healthy, so I started saving my strip containers, there a little smaller than a 35mm film container, with a hinged lid, when I load at the range I precharge 50-100 from my Prometheus.

Thanks Boyd for the great idea. I made a copy and loaded in a 10 mph wind several times. It worked perfectly.

That's a great job Raymond - I like the copper pipe trickler and the 5-10 is a fine scale. If you want to move it to the next level an extended pointer and a small webcam is a good upgrade. All parallax is eliminated and the movement magnified about 100 times. For use on the range a smartphone can be used like this:-
