I had one of those in 222 Rem. It shot great and was nice to shoot and carry. Dad had one in 7.62x54. It carried nicely too but wasn't quite so pleasant to shoot. WH

Wow, having seen a Baikal, it’s amazing that piece of wood is what came on it. 
The only Baikal I have seen was a double rifle in 45/70. A shooter as shooting it down at the 50 yard range across sticks. It looked rather Spartan, but he was hitting 4 inch claybirds laying on the Burm with either barrel.
