Nice ranges!!
We live on 80acres with no one behind us, just a whole lot more woods.
This past Summer I set up a nice 2x8 framed, heavy bench. It's 4x8 ft on top, so you can sit behind it in the ambidextrous U-shaped cutout, or climb on top and shoot prone. So far I've got 50yds and 100yds and plan to do at least 200-300 here. I've started clearing for a 800M range with a shooting deck and insulated shooting shack w/ roof and tower, just 100yds South on one edge of our parcel, but that will take a while.
We started living here in a 12x32 cabin w/ dbl lofts and have recently moved into a small house with amenities. This past Summer my ridiculously cool Wife told me to make the cabin into my man cave. She already has a 12x20 craft shop-"Jessie's Cave" and wanted me to have a more organized area. We're still keeping one of the lofts queen sized bed for guest lodging. The back/East end faces the range. I'll be putting a nice prone shooting matt in the East loft to shoot from the upper window and replacing the 9' kitchen counter with a custom Birch slab shooting bench at the lower East side window. Both windows will be changed to sliders, so I can set up Lexan sliding plates to seal the window around the barrel in Winter. I can't wait to be able to build a test load...walk 20 feet...test fire....and walk back 20ft to make changes. All without even taking off my slippers. It will also be possible to have a buddy over with both of us shooting at the same time from both windows...could be fun Winter sports. Not complaining now, it's about 50-60ft from the man cave door to the shooting bench.
For Steel we've got 3 Poppers, 8 circle's and squares, and a 2/3rd size IPSC. Things are just getting good...
