I would like to get some feedback on 4000MR if someone has used it.During the last component emergency I was forced to use whatever powder was available. I am not saying that my suggestions would equal the fine accuracy and extreme low spreads that would be attained with H4350 or perhaps IMR 4451, IMR 4350, or perhaps ACC 4350 but should another component emergency occur H414, R-S Hunter, and 4000 MR would provide equal velocities. But again, they may or may not provide winning scores.
I had an interesting conversation with a very nice lady at Alliant Powders one day. In short, I asked her why the "Power Pro" powders were so cheap. I thought they would be imported from some third world country and therefore inferior to the Swiss / Swedish made "Reloader" line.
She told me that the Power Pro line is cheaper because it is made by St.Marks in Florida, and so doesn't have to come across the ocean. One of the biggest reasons they started that line she said, was because they were worried the Obama administration would cut off the supply from overseas and they wanted a domestic line to fall back on.
Random story telling I know, but there it is.
