We have already seen many times when the "Instant" background check system is jammed up, running slow, overloaded, -- enter excuse here_________.
Just wait until it NEVER works well.... kind of like obtaining a New York concealed carry permit.
I think we are seeing the sunset of our selling and swapping days where you and I can sell guns to each other, facilitated by our internet relationship, shipping and receiving, and easy background checks by abundant FFL businesses.
Hell, I wouldn't bet 2 cents against the possibility that sites like this one will soon be simply "canceled".
The sad irony is that we now have a government which can't or won't control thousands of illegal aliens from swarming into the country - perhaps carrying back packs full of cocain, meth, plutonium, machine guns, or some ungodly disease. BUT--- they will go to any length to control or deny the rights of law abiding citizens to enjoy their constitutional rights.

All four calls took a total of approx. 30 minutes ! I know BOTH of these people are Chuck U Schumer's Lap-dog puppets , but I made the calls anyway . Why , you ask , did I waste my time ? Answer : So I could look at myself in the mirror tomorrow .
Every time these issues come up , it's the same old story with you guys . Tired of the whining and bitching and complaining . But I haven't heard a single one of you say they have actually done a damn thing to get involved . Then there's the ; "I never hear from them" crowd , and the "They hang up on you , crowd" , and on and on . Excuses are a dime a dozen , and I've heard way to many in this thread . Make yourself a PITA , and continue doing so . Even if they vote against us , they'll know that WE will be a vote against THEM , in the next election .
And to @rayporter ; You only need to check history to know that the first step to confiscation is registration . Ask the Germans , Italians , Russians , Poles , Cambodians , Laotians , and most lately , the Venezuelans . They'll tell you all about registration . that’s not true...unless you got snitches at your range or you can’t go shoot out in the woods...then how would anyone ever know?
you dont believe every game warden in the country will be checking?
and you dont believe they will have a nice policeman stop by the range to check?

Well I guess I will be on the look out at the Milroy flea market for all the MS-13 members buying up single barrel shotguns and H&R 22 pistols. Funny thou, I see their pictures, the few I see, with full auto AK's, S&W pistols, Glocks and HK. I don't remember seeing that stuff at my local flea mkt.
I'm not saying some of this doesn't happen but if it was happening like you say it is. There are other ways to stop it. Simply run the buyers name and see if he is a "criminal". Any cop can do this if he suspects something. If the ATF thought it was a real issue they would figure a way around the laws just like they do for everything else.

You mean to tell me they are going to put an already strapped police force and federal agency on every American who owns a “bad gun?” Our justice system can’t even give everyone a fair trial so they stiffen the penalties to scare you into a plea bargain so they don’t have to do their job. How could they possibly find every gun owner, build a case, and take them to trial?

I love all the democrats that insist they are dissenters. That is until it's time to vote, and then just like their politicians, they all fall into line totally with the DNC. Take a look at all the voting records every time they claimed they "couldn't support this in good conscience".

I'm pretty sure that we are all pretty pissed about the lack of enforcement that is shown with any number of actual crimes that are constantly being committed in the country. However we are totally out of the zone of reality these days, and when these evil bastards get a bee in their bonnet about your guns -- expect the worst.
We're already to the place where if you call a complaint about your neighbor and his kid shooting heroin on the front porch, the cops as likely to come and arrest you for possessing a 10-22 with a fifty round mag.
