B-Tips v Blitz-King

I have been using 70gr Nosler Ballistic Tips in my 6mm Remington ever since they hit the market for groundhogs.
Here of late I’ve for some reason felt the need to switch to the 70gr Sierra Blitz-Kings.
Has anyone here shot both bullets that can give a fair comparison of field and target performance?
My max range is about 600 yards.

I found that they're every bit the equal of Ballistic Tips.

I shoot both for prairie dogs out of a couple of 6 Dashers.

Performance on targets, whether paper or fur, is identical.

Not withstanding individual barrel preferences, of course.

In my guns the Blitzkings will out perform the BT in accuracy and killing power. I shoot the 70Gr 6mm in my 6BR's and 6BRX with kills on VA groundhog past 600 yds. I have shot the BT, but now shoot just the BK

I like the 50gr for my 223 and the 39gr for my 204.

The blitz king is more explosive than the ballistic tip.

Your barrel may have a slight preference in accuracy of one over the other.

In my 1-10 6BR the 80 Ballistic Tips are more accurate than the the Blitzkings. The B/T do a little more damage than the Blitz Kings also, The Sierra's I have are lead tipped #1515)if I remember right. Are these the same BK's you guys are shooting? The 75 V Max's really splat for me.

12man,

No, what you have are the varmint bullets, not the same as BK. The Biltzking are tipped bullet just like the BT. They have the accuracy of a Matchking and are explosive like the Blitz bullets.

I have used them all and they work. The BK are more accuracte and Splat better than all the other in my guns.

I bought the 50 grain Blitz Kings to prevent richoches when I was first going prairie dog hunting. Turned out my 'buddy' went without me so I had a ammo can full of loaded 223 with this bullet and no prairie dogs to shoot them at,all dressed up and no party). This was years ago before the ECO POLICE banned shooting most anything.

So.......... here is Arkansas there was,and is still) an abundance of turtles and snakes along the Arkansas river banks as well as a large number of buzzards. The BlitzKings were so explosive that in addition to vaporizing the turtles, blowing greak junks out of the snakes and buzzards, you can actually hear the bullets explode on impact. Alos, I never heard a bullet bounch off the water - jsut exploded on impact.Pretty amazing bullet. Remember, this was before the ECO POLICE banned shooting most anything. Now you cannot legally shoot over water or at practically anything in Arkansas except game and a few crows during crow 'season'.

Groups from a factory barreled Savage 10GV were all under 1/2 MOA and most was under 3/8' at 100 yards. I cannot say enough about liking this bullet.
