B&C STOCKS FOR REM 700?

I have seen alot of different bell and carlson stocks over the internet and have a couple questions about them. My only expirence with B&C stocks is the stock on a Rem.700LVSF. but recently while i was in a local gun store they had a rem.700 titanium and the store owner said it was a B&C stock that they made for rem. I noticed that the stock had somewhat of a rubber feel to it which is nothing like my stock on the lvsf. Does B&C offer different types of finishes like this rubber feel for aftermarket purchases or was this something only made for remington?

Sounds like a Hogue Stock - are you sure it was a B&C?

according to the dealer it was a B&C. I have owned a couple hogue stocks and it wasnt the same as this stock on the rem. titanium. Its hard to discribe but the rubber feel wasnt as predominet as the hogue is. The titanium stock had a very subtle rubber feel to it.

but truthfully i dont know much about the history of the rem. titanium. so i cant say for sure it was a b&c...just going off what the dealer told me..

Yep, they make a couple different ones for sure.

B&C has a standard and a mountain version that is very light. They have a rubbery finish to them and come in a number of different colors that are "splattered" with black webbing.

I have a green on a 22-250AI built on a rem. Very nice stocks, they feel nice and function well. I'd recommend one in a heartbeat.

My only disappointment is that I wish I had a lightweight one. However the gun I have it on only weighs 9,75 pounds, not a huge deal but carring it coyote hunting it can start feeling heavy.

PS...the Remington Titanium came from the custom shop with a Bell and Carlson on there. And I BELIEVE its the lightweight version.

If it has a ruber skin on it ,it isnt a b&c .It is a hogue period. The ones made for the titanium rifle were fiberglass etc.

I'd have to disagree with this. I have a bell and carlson that has a rubbery feel to it. I don't know if its a skin or what it is, but it feels rubbery.

this is exactly the one im talking about...its not anything like a hogue

The coating that you speak of is a dip coating as per the cat tail camo dip/rubberized coating found on Rem shotguns/rifles.
The 700 Ti Lighweights were a B&C stock as are the Rem Custom Seven AWR(AK wilderness Rifle).
The 700 Ti Alaskans have an H&S stock from the factory.

Any current model rifle produced by the Rem Custom Shop, the stock is not available commercially from the manufacturer until the Rem model goes out of production.

Most manufacturers couldn't produce stocks fast enough for Rem-hence the injection molded/tupperware stocks.

The original 700 Titaniums mountain rifles used a B&C stock, still available from Stocky Stocks:

2950/51 ADL Mountain Rifle Models -
(this model requires fitting / for gunsmiths only!)
- Short or Long Action ADL only. (22-24 oz.)
- lightest stock Bell & Carlson makes, but
- plan on spending some time getting it on right
- length-of-pull 13.5"; weight 24 oz. O.A.L. 30.5"

The second reincarnation of the Titanium mountain rifle, the Alaskan, still used a B&C stock, also still available from Stockys:

Alaskan 700 BDL Ti Model
- Long or Short Action BDL or DBM Magnum Block & Barrel Channel (25-30 oz.)
- Short block for weight reduction (saves 2-4 oz)
- as close to the proverbial drop-in fit as it gets!

not to send this in a different direction but I've had several pm's asking where I saw the rem. titaniums they had two of them in 30-06 and were priced somewhere around $1300 not positive but they looked NIB condition. they were at sports world in Tulsa Oklahoma

I only shoot short action calibers if this thing was in. 308 or any of the sisters of the 308 I'd be $1300 poorer. this gun was absolutely one of the nicest rifles I have ever handled

I’m posting on this thread just to say I posted on it again after 13 years.

Still have my B&C with the rubbery finish to. The 22-250ai has been rebarreled twice however.

Some of us still read old threads, too

IMO better than vegetating in front of a screen watching sports games played ~10-30 years ago
