Synthetic stocks

What is your opinion on Bell and Carlson stocks compared to HS Precision, Considering one for a Rem 700 with a heavy sporter or light varmint contour ( Sendero ? ) . Weight is not a consideration.

All my Bell & Medalist stocks have solid forends, and they are very rigid with no flexing at the forend. A good value for the cost. Had several H-S and was disappointed.

Take a look at this thread:

I purchased a rifle with the B&C like the one in this article. I really like it. it is light, yet solid, and does not flex in the forearm. It shoots well from a bipod or correct fitting bag. After using the B&C, there is NWIH that I would pay 2 or 3 times the money for some of the others.

I like my B&C stocks. The rear portion is somewhat hollow but the front is solid as stated above. The fit on my Remingtons have been excellent. Never been disappointed.

Let me add that I have very little experience with HS on the Remington platform, had one on a Savage and it fit great.

Hope this helps in your search.

Edit to add: I agree with timeout, I had a Manners, which was great except for the cut out for the bolt handle was not as finished and fit as welll as the B&C.

I have both B&C as well as HS Prec, both are excellent! However, I believe you get "more bang for the buck" with a B&C.. B&C's aluminum action / forearm concept has never failed. In realty, according to my 'smith, bedding them does nothing>>>>they are that close..

You should go and watch Don's video on Stocky's. He shows you 7 stocks. The B&C Medalist with adjustable cheek and butt pad for Remington's can be had for just over $400.00. I've owned hs stocks, but now I'm a b-c man.

I have both. To me, it seems to boil down to the particular rifle and how it feels/fits in the stock.

I just got in a B&C Model 7 stock I've been waiting 4 months for. It fits just right, shoulders well, and is a keeper.

I have both brands on sporters and Senderos contour barrels. I don't see where the H.S. commands a $100 or so premium and the last three I bought were B&Cs.
