338 Lapua & 300 mag 1200 yd @ Dasher DOME

Scott Glover, 338 Lapua Masterpiece Arms, and Bubba Dunbar, 300 Win Mag, Winchester Model 70, came to the DOME this week. Scott laid down a nice 9 inch 3 shot group on the plate and a hit on the ground hog stand with the 338 Lapua.

I have asked Bubba and Scott to answer. Bubba was reloading for the 300 mag. Scott was shooting factory loads with 300 gr. Maybe they will chime in with the facts.

I’m shooting the SMK 220 grain in the 300 win mag. H1000 powder, Lapua brass and CCI Magnum primers (250)

Bubba, if you can find some Federal Magnum Match primers, your load will tighten up. I believe the Fed # is 215M
