Australian NRAA/IBS 600yd BR

The National Rifle Association of Australia has officially adopted the IBS 600yd BR discipline.

Without doubt this is the most progressive and positive LRBR initiative by the NRAA since November 2004.

The implementation of this event will provide existing members (and potentially attract new members) with an additional competitive option.

In contrast to our existing “bastardised” and inequitable “Australian 1000yd BR” rules situation, thankfully, the introduction and adoption of IBS 600yd BR, has been a member driven initiative, in which all the IBS rules and regulations were adopted without modification.

Adherence by all, to the 600yd IBS rules will ensure that there will not be a repeat of the existing situation whereby some non IBS aligned Australian 1000 yd BR host clubs allow competitors to shoot using the F Class “marked target” method and then have their results compared directly to those who shoot in accordance with the traditional IBS 1000yd BR “blind” style.

We are indebted to IBS President Mr Jeff Stover, the Virginia 1000yd BR club and the members of the IBS for the ongoing support and assistance they have provided and continue to provide to Australian IBS aligned LRBR clubs and competitors.
