Austrailian To "Murican" in Just Ten Days

My Sis came from Australia to visit about two weeks ago. She brought her grandson, Rhynn with her this year. They live in Perth, and have also lived in New Zealand, and visited the exotic South Sea vacation spots down there. -- However -- the boy had never experienced the U S of Murica, had never seen snow, never shot a gun, and never hung out with his white trash, redneck, uncle.

For the last two weeks, I've been spending a ton of time with him and my best bud Sammie, doing the kind of stuff that's old hat for Sam and I, but not for a city kid from Oz. I've gotta say, that I did a fine job of corrupting his city-tude, and we've made memories that are gonna stick to him. (and me and Sam)

We've been sledding, shooting, 4 wheeling, and basically doing what any three twelve year olds with a Jeep, guns, and plenty of space would do.

The boy took to shooting very well, and could now be considered an avid gun-nut. He also took to his cousin, and seeing the two have fun together would jerk a tear outta the meanest man in the world.

I've gotta take the Aussies over the hill to fly away tomorrow, and it's gonna be tough to see them go. I'll still have Sam, and that aint bad. I think the three of us have made memories that will be life-long. --- AND, I'll be surprised if we don't see Rhynn back here in the future. jd
Awesome I feel a tear welling up right now

I bet both of those kids shed a lot of tears, when the boy left. There will be a lot of long range communications from now on. You have made a profound influence on both of them. Looks to me like you have forever shaped their lives.

All I can say is; If I had had a father like you, I never would have left home.

You done good Charlie Brown.

I LOVE IT!!!

A buddy of mine prides himself with the fact that he corrupted a teenage French exchange student in the redneck ways of shooting guns, gigging frogs and noodling catfish.

She was changed for life, for the better.

Her parents weren’t too amused!
As for those parents they've got two choices, stay pissed or get over it.

That is how all kids should be brought up and taught. This kind of outdoor living and activity sure beats electronic thumbs and wrist's. Good what he have done, and hopefully more will come.
