I would bet its a later 60's / early 70's vintage alsoOld Weaver V8 Scope. I think those were straight up oughta the sixties. About the same time as the Fab Four.jd

Check the trigger for the recall Remington had on the 700's.
Smooth trigger face is the tell all. If it is smooth look for a punch mark on the bolt release, if you see a punch mark your good to go.
The good trigger is ribbed and not smooth.
double checked... the SN is 670xxI would bet its a later 60's / early 70's vintage also
From what I read
700 receivers with ser# 1000-387347 started in 1962 until 11-68
6200000-6899999 started in 11-68 until Aug of 1975
the A prefix did not begin until 1975
---
The supposed 607 prefix has me stumped unless thats a typo and SHOULD read as 670xx
---
that's a nice find, I love all my B-series and back
Tombstone Safteys early 70’s. or before?
What’s on the floor plate?
Didn’t they have a “C” after the 700 for custom shop? As JD said the grip cap is different.
