Auckland Champs 29th Nov

On a great day in warm sunshine, 35 shooters turned up for the Auckland Champs. A good mix of TR, F-Open, FTR and FPR made the competition interesting and for some close scores. We shot 500.600 and 700 yards in occasionally tricky wind. All good fun.

Second pic - NZ F-Open Team member Liza acknowledges a 3 at 700 yds.

Ow… That three really puts you out of the running…! That final four also painful.
We would call that three, two or one a “Magpie” …
At least your grass was not as “crispy’’ as my local range.
Had a 118.7 at 800yds yesterday…
Second string 60.5 {:~)
First string dropped two into the 5 by winding windage the wrong way… {:~/
32*C, heavy mirage right to left… Trijicon Ten Mile
280AI, 56.8gr AR2213sc, weight sorted White River, 180VLD Copper Head {made in OZ} BTO 2.8720”, Peterson brass, 2,800fps

Liza was shooting her 6mm Alpha Dasher /107 Sierra/2208- normally shoots a 7mm Sherman Short, but is saving the barrel for the Nationals. She and husband Wille shot at the Kings in Brisbane recently.

How did they do at Belmont/Kings?
I have a friend that managed a 3rd with a 284. Wind & mirage were in play…
Often wish I was financial enough to be able to travel to the distant comps and compete against the “Top End” shooters.
The 2208 {Varget for the Yanks} is a “go to” powder though I have played around with 2206H {4895H}

Thanks for the post. Nice to see green grass and people in shorts.
Looking forward to seeing some of you in a month!
Cheers
