ATN X sight 2 users. I need pros and cons

Im looking at buying one of these for nighttime coyote hunting. Want to know pros and cons before I do. Seems like battery life is the biggest complaint from looking at reviews. What kind of battery life are you getting? How far can u see a coyote coming in at night with it? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The only pro is the built in dvr. You won't find a reputable night vision company pushing this product.
I made the mistake to purchase one when they came out. Even got atn to replace it with a new model, it's new in the box if you want to purchase one.

The sightmark photon is better equipment. And if budget allows the pulsar 960lrf is ten fold

Mine works fine but probably a fluke. The internal battery life will only last a few hrs but with the extended battery pack it will run all night. Mine is the 5-20 xsight II running the rechargeable kentli internally with the extended pack and a streamlight super tac ir. The videos are cute but it performs better with all the bells and whistles turned off.
the worst part is the weight all that adds.

How far can you see with it after dark?

It depends on a lot of variables like humidity, moonlight, terrain, vegetation, and so on. I use mine on critters as small as skunks at 200 yds. You can see them out further but my shots are usually within 100 yds where the IR reflection is best. On well moonlit nights IR isn't necessary but will show eyes to help locate game.
I can't wait until I can afford thermal but for the money the digital night vision works.

Bought one. On a clear night i can see 250 yards. Different IR then what came with it. Did not like what came with it, there are better options. Getting an IR laser will help LOTS. problem is getting IR lights to align with the sight (mount sucks).

I have not used internal battery, i purchsed a external battery. Basically a cell phone battery pack with usb cable. I put it in 1 inch scope mount that mounts to rail on my ar. Last hours (4-5). Rechargeable, works good. Only issue is field of vision, not great, doesnt work well for scanning area. It does work well for shooting, but finding target in the dark is hard.
