Athlon Talos 6-24x50

I was thinking about getting one of these to put on a truck gun but was worried the dots would cover up p-dogs at 300-400yds, now the more i read about them the more it seems the dots may be to small for old eyes rather than to large. Has anybody used one of these yet?

The BDC dots are approximately 3" at 300Y or 4" at 400Y, they are 1 moa dots but at which magnification I'm not sure.

I highly suggest the ATMR1 reticle in mil instead. If the diopter on the eye piece is set correctly you should have no problem seeing the hashes.

I have old eyes.

Thank you steve123, i realize it's not much of a scope but i never got over ruining a good scope by falling on it on wet slippery rocks.

That's what lifetime warranties are for.

The ATMR1 is just another reticle option for the Talos 6-24, it's the same scope otherwise.

Thanks Steve, i got a chance to talk to one of athlons customer service reps and he was the most helpful cs person i have talked to in a long time. I'm going to start with the Talos but i'm already looking at the Argos 6-30x56 for another rifle of mine.

I have shot the Talos, Argos and have 2 Ares BTR's. A lot of scope for the $. We looked at them at the Shot Show & my bud became a stocking dealer, no complaints from the ones (a bunch) that he's sold.

Just throwing out there that Vortex recently released FFP Diamondback scopes, $350 to $400 for 4-16 and 6-24 respectively. EBR-2C MOA or MRAD reticles. Similar on paper, but not sure the FFP Diamondback compares to Argos in real life.

Had a different scope and it wasn't what I wanted. Now waiting until Labor Day sales for an Ares.
