I'm 60 1/2 and have corrected vision . Just today out in a windless day in NV desert ,with my Athlon Cronus 4.5x29x56mm mounted on my custom 6mm Creedmoor ,I was able to see and blow up a full 12 oz soda pop can at 787 yards. Awesome glass !!!!!

Hey that's a great shot with any glass!! I've read a lot of different reviews of the Athlon products at different price points, almost all very positive. I think the Cronus BTR is made by LOW in Japan. Some of the best products on the market come from that factory.

I'm 66, and have four of the original (pre-BTR) Cronus 4.5-29x56 mil version scopes - three on precision 22RF (40X, 40XB, Vudoo V22) custom barreled bolt repeater rifles, and another on a Bighorn TL2-SA in 223AI. Have done tall target & box tests with all four, and all four performed very well. So tracking is excellent - but what about optical quality? Well, I've got three Kahles K624i AMR scopes on my three other Bighorn rifles, and though they're still my favorite scopes, the Athlon Cronus is very good optically speaking. The Cronus scopes pretty well 'snap' into focus when adjusting the parallax; overall, I can't think of anything about them that I don't like - including the price.

I have the Cronus BTR and the clarity is amazing. If they reduced the MSRP to $1999 then I think it would edge out the Vortex Viper PST and others in PRS PRODUCTION Matches.

Bought mine new thru some guy on snipers hide for I think $1450.00 ( Maybe less by $50 bucks )

Street price from most dealers is around $1800

MAP pricing is $1799 for the Cronus BTR. They are really cracking down on selling under that, it was a real problem for awhile. I'm sure it's one of the reasons they changed the dealership requirements.
