Asking for help in identifying a stock

This was a pawn shop find . Rifle was built on a Remington long action. Was little rough but looked like it had potential. I liked it because it was fairly light. Got it home and it shoots real well. Decided to make it look a little nicer. Sent the barreled action out to get cerakoted and decided to throw some paint on the stock. Once I got a lighter coat of paint on the stock I noticed it was cracked. ( see pictures) the stock weighs in right at 24 ounces . I tried google and it matches the closest to a Banser stock. Not sure if it’s fixable or it is a Banser would the warranty it? It doesn’t open up at all if I try to flex it. Could it be just in the outer shell?

Most likely in the paint itself. Looks like a very nice stock. Repaint or shoot as is. Unless the prep for paint is absolutely oil free crazy things can and do happen.

Sand that area back to the shell, clean with naptha or spray away.
When you clean it will tell you if it's a paint problem or you need to do a repair.

Thank you I was worried it was a loss. Maybe I will sand it down. Project for this winter.!
Alex and Paul are absolutely on to something that it could be in the paint.
Not all coatings are compatible causing splits or appearance of cracks, easy fix, sand and paint.
If you notice the crack is still there when cleaning after sanding, notch the cracks, break the top edge of shell and fill with a quality 2 part epoxy, Devon, marine tex should work.
