It's good to be alert.

It's bad to make false accusations.

It doesn't sound like you've been ripped off, MuleCrazy.

Without further information, your accusation does not reflect on the seller, it reflects on you as someone an honest seller would have questions about doing business with.

1/2 of the firearms I have tried buying on that site have been a scam. I don't even consider buying things off that site any more....no matter how good the deal looks.

I once bought a carbine stock on A-list. The guy failed to ship. I tracked him down and learned he once had a gunshop....had a "suspicious" burglary, then a few years later he got popped by the feds for firearms violations. Ended up losing his assets. When I stumbled over him and had the local PD stop by as a favor, the stock showed up, express, several days later. After I got it I thanked the PD guys (professional cuertosy) and they told me it was something they REALLY wanted to do, cause visiting that TURD always turned up something smelly. I will never go to A list again.

I purchased a scope from a member (this site). I paid with a check from New York, to the seller in Texas, and requested it be sent to a buddy in California. The only thing that happened was the the seller asked me 2X if that is what I wanted and the deal went thru. I do look to see how long someone has been a site member, if they are a site contributor, and their trade count. Been a real good run on THIS site for me.

The name that I post I googled and it came up as a member here had been taken by him also . He asked for a money order for the amount he had posted on the add which was 620 plus 40 for shipping ,, So I said sounds good and text him back saying a money order for 440 has been sent . He never corrected me on the amount and his text kept asking for information , and asking how to proceed ,, That was Sunday ,, today get another text asking if I was still interested in it and need a money order and tracking number . wanted more info than felt comfortable giving him .

I do, often. I only purchase on in state FTF transactions and have gotten some good deals.

I won't say that you can't get a deal on there in a long distance sale. Not all people are dishonest...however, I can't any longer tell you how many sales on there were using pictures lifted from legitimate auctions on Armslist, or had been flagged by the system as scams, so your chances of getting burned there are already unacceptably too high if you do a long distance sale.
