Arken EP5 5-25X56 FFP MIL VPR Review

Yesterday I looked thru my buddy's Arken EP5 and his 5-25 Strike Eagle with him. At 25x the Arken was clearer and crisper than the Vortex. It seemed the eye box was a little tighter on the Vortex making the Arken just a tad and I mean very little for acquiring your target. I did not touch the knobs and we didn't discuss them so I would tend to believe he is satisfied, especially for a $550.00 scope. He did more than this and it cut the mustard for him and I'm confident I'll be happy with mine. If an issue arises, like most other scope companies I'm sure Arken will handle it in a timely and swift manner.

Can someone measure the available 34mm tube (ring mounting) length of their EP-5?
And,
Does the .92" rings keep the ocular high enough to clear a rail?
Can't find those dimensions in their specs.
I could just order with the 1.26" rings, but would like to stay lower, if possible.
Thanks in advance.

Ring surface measures 2.095 front and rear, I had to trim my rail a little in front to allow mounting back far enough to not hit the rail, It cleared before but that was for just in case, these are the .92 inch low rings on a 20 MOA rail

Outstanding reply!
Not only did you answer my questions, but you did it with the identical model rifle!
Thanks again!

I saw this on Cyclops review on this scope. You basically get Arken's scope ring package free with coupon code CYCLOPS

I got a chance to try out the scope at Shot Show last week (yup, that's me filming this video). I can't speak to the optics because all I could focus on were objects inside the expo hall (which was 75yrds at most). But the turrets were the same excellent ones like the EP4. The only turrets that felt and moved better to are on the a Leupold Mark 5. There's a 2-6 week back order last I checked.

Okay I finally got my scope. I've mounted it on my CZ457. Since I'm inside, I can only take some base photos.

5x, pointing at my tv, elevation turret all the way to one extreme. I took a perfect picture. That's just how it looks.
EDIT: I had to dial down about 8.5 mils to get this to go away.

EDIT: I had to replace this picture, as the zero stop wasn't installed at the bottom of the travel. Once I dialed up about 8 mills, it was fine.

I have to remind myself that this is a $550 scope… The glass looks great. I would like to see a tracking test done on the new model cause at the end of the day, that’s the clincher for me.

At which power do you guys feel the reticle would be OK for deer hunting? What about dawn/dusk for seeing the crosshair on an animal?

I bought a 4-16 model to try. I put it on my make shift scope checker, a rail bolted to a Hart front rest plate.
I stood a yard stick up at 100 yds and leveled it. The scope tracked great, I went slow and every click landed where it should. I maxed out the elevation and went way below the stick. As I dialed it back to the zero stop, it landed exactly at the top where I started. I would compare the glass to my gen-1 razor, again pretty dang good for $400.
I’m going to get an order in for a 5-25 since I read they are even better.
I have some high end scopes, S&B, Kahles NF and others, Im saying this scope is in the $1500-$2000 class. Very impressed with everything about it from the turrets to how smooth the power ring turns.
The only down I’ve seen so far is he illumination is not day bright. On a cloudy day turned o high it can be seen but dim. Not a feature I use much anyway.
They are chunky also.

I see this is an older thread, but I just ran across this scope last night while searching for optics to complete my Build.
I've been all over the internet and YouTube checking this out and have seen some pretty good reviews on it.

Still looking today on distance shooting with it, but I do believe I'm going to get one. 5:22EST,Upon further review from the first part of the thread, I've seen shots out to and over a 1000 yards. I do believe this scope to be of very good quality and performance.

Don't believe you will be disappointed with it. In my opinion it's a better scope than the (7) 8.5 X 25 X 50 L R P Leupold and (1) Vortex Strike Eagle scopes that I sold and went to. Still happy with my decision.
